THE drains at Lochgelly Cemetery are desperately needing attention.

Can I say that the drains on the Eliza Brae were blocked for some time and this led to water cascading down the hill at times towards Cardenden.

These were cleaned out and what a difference it made but similar action is needed at the cemetery.

The drains inside the cemetery itself seem to be chocablock with muck and debris which means that when there is heavy rain large pools of water start to gather.

This makes things very difficult for visitors who go to visit family graves.

It also takes a long time for these small lakes to dry out after the rain stops.

I know that many of our councillors are aware of the problem as is our MSP and it really needs urgent attention.

Basically all it needs is the same sort of work that was undertaken on the Eliza Brae which made a really big difference.

I hope this is taken on board and something positive is done in the very near future to sort this rather embarrassing problem out.

CATWEAZLE,

Lochgelly.
