THE article about unadopted roads that was published in the Times seems to suggest that the council are kind of playing at tackling the issue.

i think your article said there was more than 1,700 miles of unadopted roadway in the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly neck of the woods and much of it will be badly potholed.

So I am not sure how £11,000 is going to in any way meet the challenge.

At least some sort of effort is being made to try and help this issue but it would seem that there is simply not enough cash in the kitty to tackle this.

Pavements can also be a problem not just in unadopted areas. Some of the pavements in Cowdenbeath have been sorted through the scheme which has seen the Green Square enlarged but there are others in the side streets that are not really very good at all.

I have walked around Benarty and found the same tale and also parts of Lochgelly. And can I say Ballingry Street is one to watch out for there for there are some really deep holes in the roadway which would damage a tyre if you did not see one of them.

I would seem that there will be some things done to get the biggest holes fixed on the unadopted roads but maybe the councillors are right to say to folk who own these that they could fix these themselves out of their own pocket. Aye and pigs will fly.

So maybe the simple message is keep off unadopted roads but sometimes that it is not possible. It will be interesting to see if anything positive comes from the plans.
