CAN I just say that the story in last week's Times about the the young lad suffering at the hands of people who spike drinks was really worrying.

It just shows that the people who seem to want to carry out these acts are really clever with how they carry out the way they put illicit substances into glasses.

The thing is that the young lad who ended up suffering could have been seriously affected by the apparent drug put in the glass as he suffered from epilepsy.

As it turned out he took a week to recover which really is terrible.

I know that the pubs and clubs try hard to stop this happening but the problem is that these folk are not really bothered who they hit with their actions it seems to be at random.

The mum involved in the drama was really right to say that folk who maybe have to leave their drink for even a few short minutes should not drink it when they return to it.

It might seem a waste but could save you a lot of bother later and not feeling well for some time.

The door people do their best, no doubt and the pub managements also will do what they can but folk that carry out these acts really are despicable individuals.

Is there any way to stop it? I don't know for they are devious people who seem to treat it as a challenge to cause people illness.

If someone was to fall over and hit their head after drinking the stuff in their glass it could have a fatal result.

Maybe these people should bear that in mind before they start planting powder or tablets in people's drinks!
