DOUGLAS Chapman's column I found laughable regarding "It's Scotlands Oil."

Firstly Scotland nor England, France , Holland or Norway, in fact any country who have oil exploration Licences,

own the North Sea.

Norway is one of the most expensive countries in the world, and may have an oil fund which will

not benefit all Norwegians.

Britain has free health care, an overgenerous welfare system, which Norway certainly doesn't.. and although they don't have food banks, they do have feeding, stations for homeless and other vulnerable groups, so perhaps it can be argued some of this money should be used now.

Britain is not a member of OPEC, our oil production pales into insignificance compared to Saudi Arabia, Iran etc, who call the shots regarding prices, holding the worlds consumers to ransom at the same time...

Incidentally 83% of Norways landed fish catch is caught where? In British waters!!!

But like his colleagues Scotland's fishing industry is not even on his pecking order.
