LOCHGELLY Community Christmas Lights Group would like to thank many people who contributed the success of the switch-on event a few weeks ago.

We would like to say thank you to Fife Council and the 4Winds Trust for grants received.

Also Purvis Plant Hire, Exxon Mobil, Ore Valley Housing Association, Kingdom Housing Association, Benarty and Lochgelly Credit Union, S and M Bayne, Shades Salon, Lochgelly Opticians, Sadie Gourdie, Mr and Mrs Penman, and All in One Tandoori for their monetary donations.

Also Lochgelly Co-op for their donations of selection boxes along with Morrisons Supermarkets in Cowdenbeath, Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy, for their donations of selection boxes.

Raffle prizes were donated by Blacks Butchers, Fife Flowers, Top Knot Hairdressers, CK Hair, The Loft, Body Glo, Beauty Spot, Perfect Pooches, Shardy's, Lochgelly News Plus. Turkish Barbers, Home 'n Hardware, Pins and Needles, the Golden Fry, Paige Wrights Barbers, Kooners, A&R Fish Bar, West End Bar, McColl's North Street and Motion Street, I Candy, Lee Cottage, Well Pharmacy, Nisa Supermarket, Tone and Tan, Chinese Carry Out, Serenity, Fife Flowers, Marks and Spencer, Paige Wright Salon, Jean MacDonald and Major Mary McDonald.

We would also like to thank Lochgelly High School Pipe Band and Brass Ensemble for providing music for the carol service and parade, major McDonald, of the Lochgelly Salvation Army Corps for the Christmas Message, and Zodiac Dancers' Citizens of the Year and Junior Citizen of the Year Ava Stark, for switching on the Christmas tree lights. A special mention to Mr and Mrs Claus for distributing selection boxes to the the children and listening to their long lists.

A big thank you to Lochgelly Women's Social Group , Lochgelly Community Shop, Fife Council Youth Workers, Burntisland First Aid and all volunteers on the night.

To the community of Lochgelly thank-you for coming out in such great numbers on a very cold and wet night, a great time was had by all.

The red funding tins are still in the shops, please put your coppers in, for every penny counts.

We all want Lochgelly to twinkle next year!
