IT was great to hear through the Times that the Coalfields Regeneration Trust have again made good support for good causes in the locality.

For Kingdom Brass and the Kelty Community Cinema the handsome sums handed over by the Trust have ensured that both these organisations can look ahead to 2019 confidently.

With the CRT also sponsoring the Futures event in Cowdenbeath they are playing their part in making a really significant contribution in the Cowden-Gelly area.

When you remember the work done in the likes of Cardenden, Benarty, Crossgates, Kelty and Kinglassie they must have poured more than a couple of hundred thousand pounds into the district.

Hopefully the Cowdenbeath project will work well and be as successful there as it was in the other places.

With each of our villages and towns having had pits our communities deserve the money that has been ploughed in by the Trust and hopefully there will be a lot more to come.

The Coalfield Trust is something which backs a lot of former coal communities and hopefully the Scottish Government will keep their support for it going for a long time to come.

TRUSTED,

Centre Street,

Kelty.
