WHAT brilliant news that Fife Council have agreed to investigate the Glencraig boundary situation.
The situation is simply wrong, anyone who has lived in this area for 40 years knows full well that Lochgelly High School is built in Glencraig.
How the community council boundary information disappeared is a mystery but the fact that the CCs have straddled two local councils could be the reason.
Maybe the information was misplaced when Dunfermline District Council handed over to Fife Council but surely sense will prevail.
From my memory Glencraig ran from around the entrance to Cartmore Industrial Estate to north of Garry Park. So it definitely is in the Benarty Council’s remit.
I was puzzled why Lochgelly Community Council has been claiming that the boundary is in their patch.
Maybe they were hoodwinked by Lochgelly High being built where it is but it really is in the middle of Glencraig.
Hopefully it will be sorted out by the investigation which is to take place and the Boundaries Group deserve a great deal of credit for the campaign they have mounted to oppose the approach by the Lochgelly people.
However, I noticed that they do not exist now so I wonder if that has an impact on the situation.
