One Day In November (Lest We Forget)

Some of us still remember,

That historic day in November,

We stand in silence and we grieve,

Those heroes in whom we still believe.

Do we ever stop and think,

What they thought when on the brink,

Before they went to their grave,

How many lives they would save.

They left some with a chasm in their lives,

Their sons, daughters and their wives,

They had no choice but to go to war,

Some could not reason why or what for.

That time in history that was so fateful,

To all those heroes we should be grateful,

We should remember them for more than one day,

We should give them thanks each time we pray.

So for those of you who just don’t care,

For you and me those men were there,

So if some day war comes again,

Some of you will have to do the same.

So on that day in November,

More of us should remember,

Those men and women we never met,

Praise and salute them lest we forget.
