I WAS delighted to read in last week's Times about the number of people who have used the Glencraig Cycle Track since it opened.

I have spoken to some people who are a bit critical of the siting of the track so close to the main road, indeed, just critical full stop.

So to see statistics being published that more than 5,000 people have used the cycle track in four months shows that there is a demand for it.

The fact that many of those using it are kids is something in itself.

Over the next year things will get even more busier I am sure of that and there should be so many more people coming to the area because of it.

It has to be good for the economy of the Lochgelly area to have more and more people coming to things like the track.

On people coming to the area what about the climbing centre in Lochgelly.

We have not heard much about that recently.

I hope that it is not going to fall by the wayside because that too could see so many more folk visiting the district and spending money.

So I hope all the doubters about the cycle track hold their heads in shame.

This is going to be a real success story, make no mustake about that.

CYCLER,
