CAN I just say that your heading about Cowden's trip to Elgin being the most bizarre day in the club's history cannot be far wrong.

On one of the warmest days we are like to come across this season the game was postponed because the pitch was below standard and maybe unsafe for the players.

Your pictures of the stones certainly left us in no doubt what the players faced.

The referee, who I can remember cancelling a game at Central Park against Elgin at the back of two because of flooding, was right on this occasion.

Players on either side could have been injured because of the stones and Elgin will probably have to get areas of the pitch re-turfed to make it safe.

That was bad enough then you get a situation where the team bus gets hit by a bird on the way home and the windscreen is broken, you could hardly make it up.

It seems that over the past couple of seasons problems have been following Cowdenbeath around.

However, the team has taken it all on the chin and produced results at key times to key the club's league status and that has been very important.

I suppose the club got some good publicity last Saturday when news of the unusual postponement broke.

The radio and television were quickly onto it and Cowden were getting a mention for something other than losing games, like what has been the situation over the past two years.

Hopefully by October 13, when the postponed game is supposed to be played, the Elgin pitch will have recovered and the Blue Brazil can go there and get all three points.

BLUE BRAZILIAN,

Kelty
