THE Cardenden Play Parks Committee was delighted to receive a £10,000 boost from the National Lottery and it sees this hard working group moving towards their target which will see the play park at the side of Cardenden Primary School completely re-equipped.

The former play park has been without equipment for some time now but over the past two years the group of parents who formed the Play Parks Committee have been raising funds through a variety of sources.

They set themselves a target of £100,000 to bring the facility up to top class status and their work has seen fun days and other events raise a lot of cash.

The Lottery grant will take them ever closer to their target and with a number of ideas for 2019 the committee will see this boost as a great start to the year.

With Fife Council having to find savings in every department it is no surprise that play parks are disappearing but the hard work of the Cardenden Play Parks Committee is ensuring village facilities are set to survive starting with the play park at Carden Avenue. And hopefully the community will keep backing them in their quest.
