HOPEFULLY there will be plenty of groups and people interested in the Cowdenbeath initiative being promoted by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.

The moves have already started to see a five year Action Plan created for the former mining town but over the next three months the need for the public to show their interest in the will be at its peak.

The Trust has guided their Futures plans in several local communities over the past five years and these have found a lot of success in Cardenden, Kelty, Crossgates and Benarty with the projects chosen by the people of each community still making a mark in each of them.

These communities embraced their respective initiatives and ensured that it would be a story of successes all the way.

So now Cowdenbeath has the chance to follow them, but without people getting involved it cannot happen.

The meeting held at the Maxwell Centre in October was well attended and a number of groups wanted to get involved and on Monday a follow up event saw people turn out in good numbers.

The momentum needs to be kept up on December 9 when the Have Your Say session is held to evaluate the projects that the £20,000 Trust pot will back.

Over to you the people of Cowdenbeath.
