HOPEFULLY the people of Cowdenbeath will back Mike Payne's appeal to give staff ideas what they want the new Maxwell Centre to include in its schedule as the town's community centre.

Mike has plenty of experience of helping new community centres settle in once the doors open for the first time having been at Benarty and Kelty in their formative months.

A community centre is for the people of the town or village it is sited in and the magnificent new facility will be like night and day to the Broad Street Centre, which gave yeoman service to the town for a lot longer than it was meant to.

With the spacious community hall there is scope to enjoy all sorts of fun events in it and the Youth Room also looks to be something that will prove popular.

However, Mike and his staff are keen to provide just what the public want and that is why they want to hear from people directly.

The staff will soon be based at Stenhouse Street, but in the meantime they can give their views to staff at the What's Your Beath community hub office on High Street or staff are still at Broad Street. The more information the better.
