BEATH High pupil Chantelle Leswell will be heading Stateside this September.

Depute Rector Alison Pilmer writes, “Readers of our Beath Diary will remember last May we informed people that through The Sutton Trust, senior pupil, Chantelle Leswell, was successful in securing a trip to America to visit MIT, Harvard, Princeton and Yale Universities.

“Chantelle had a great time and she really impressed everyone she met, including the US Ambassador to the UK, who visisted the school (see picture).

“Following her visit, Chantelle was determined to study at Princeton University and, in particular, she was interested in studying Languages at Smith College. Over the past few months, Chantelle has sat a number of entrance exams, written lots of essays and studied hard, whilst also completing all her school work.

“We at Beath are proud to announce that she has successfully secured a place at Smith College and she will begin study there next September. This is a real fairy story and, indeed, Chantelle is living the American Dream”.
