COWDENBEATH Rotary Club is set to be involved in several local Remembrance Day events.

Thursday's meeting heard that wreath laying will take place in Auchterderran and Cowdenbeath, and there will be other involvement in events in Kelty and Lochgelly.

Club president, John Gilfillan, told members: “This is always an important time of year which the club gets involved in to remember the amazing contribution made to the war effort by people in the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area, and 2026 will be no different.

“We also intend to help the local Poppy Appeal organisation with their work.”

During the run up to Remembrance Day the club will be involved in encouraging local schoolchildren to remember those local people who gave their lives in World War Two, by helping organise visits to Bowhill, Lochgelly and Cowdenbeath cemeteries, to place special poppies on war graves.
