A Cowdenbeath couple has celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
James and Barbara Atkinson, who grew up as neighbours, marked 60 years of marriage on August 20.
The happy couple got married all the way back in 1966 at the Dunfermline Register Office.
James served as a Warrant Officer Class 1 in The Black Watch, while Barbara worked in various roles worldwide.
The couple have three children, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
They said they are "immensely proud" of their family and the life they have built together over the past six decades.
To commemorate the occasion, the couple were visited by Councillor Alistair Bain, who represented Fife Council, and Deputy Lieutenant Sam Fernando, who represented Fife Lieutenancy.
