COWDENBEATH Rotary Club has received a Rotary International Club Excellence Award for 2025-26.
At Thursday night's club meeting, secretary Tom Russell reported that he had received the official notification from Rotary International President, Francesco Arezzo, and he asked immediate past president, Craig Bennet, to talk about the award.
The official notification letter said: “Congratulations! Cowdenbeath Rotary Club has earned the Club Excellence Award, the most significant accolade a Rotary club can receive.
“This past year your club demonstrated a commitment to achieve its goals which ultimately helps strengthen rotary and shape your future”.
Craig responded: “Each club is set 26 goals per year and if the members achieve 13 of them the award can be received.
“We were fortunate to be able to achieve a lot between July 2025 and June this year, helping community activities succeed.
"It was through a lot of hard work by every member that we should receive this and it is very humbling.”
