A lack of takeaway vans at Rockore came about after some were asked to leave following a fight between rival food vendors, which resulted in one person being taken to hospital, the Times understands.
Police are investigating an alleged serious assault that is said to have taken place during the setup for the Benarty festival.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.30pm on Friday, August 21, officers received a report of a serious assault in the Lochore Meadows area.
“A man was taken to hospital for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Around 4,000 people attended the music event on Saturday, with organisers hailing a successful event that saw performances from big names such as ABC, Inspiral Carpets, and Cammy Barnes.
They said that it was “probably one of the smoothest Rockores we’ve had” but wanted to clear up comments regarding the fact that there were fewer catering facilities than in previous years.
One insider told the Times that five vans were asked to leave the site due to the incident on Friday, after a number of vendors became involved in a fight.
Organiser Kevin Payne apologised for the fact that festivalgoers had less food options than usual, but said the issue was “outwith our control”.
