A new wellness event promises a calming escape through the power of sound.

Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre will host a "sound bath" session on Friday, September 4, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, offering an hour of guided relaxation using soothing instruments like singing bowls, gongs, and tuning forks.

Evelyn Crichton, fitness experience lead at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: "These sessions help participants to fully relax.

"We're encouraging people to wrap up warmly, bring a blanket, and even arrive in their comfiest pyjamas.

"Comfort is part of the ritual.

"It could be the perfect way to end your week or get some calm in your life."

The session is part of a wider programme across Fife, organised by Fife Sports and Leisure Trust in partnership with sound bath practitioners Jackie Meek and Deborah Enrici.

Sound bathing is believed to reduce stress, improve sleep, and promote a greater sense of wellbeing.

Ms Crichton said: "Using calming sound vibrations, this immersive experience will encourage your body to slow down and fully relax.

"Each sound bath is designed to soothe the nervous system, quiet the mind, and leave you feeling rested and restored."

Attendees are advised to dress warmly and bring a blanket for maximum comfort during the experience.

Booking can be made through the Fife Sports and Leisure Trust website or on Eventbrite.
