LOCHGELLY Community Council have issued what they've described as an "urgent notice" over the use of e-scooters and illegal e-bikes in the town's public park.
They said they were "deeply concerned" that some park users had sustained "serious injuries" and had been hospitalised following incidents of dangerous riding.
Writing on Facebook, the community council said: "Lochgelly Public Park is a safe space for everyone, and we need your help to keep it that way.
"Just today, on a public road, an adult was seen riding an e-scooter with a very small child sitting on the deck of the scooter. This is not only illegal in public areas, but entirely unsafe.
"We are issuing a final reminder to parents and guardians: do not allow these vehicles to be used in public spaces."
They also said that ahead of gala day, the park will be packed with families, young children, and elderly residents, and therefore these vehicles were strictly not welcome.
The public have been advised to report any incidents to Police Scotland by calling 101 (or 999 in an emergency), reporting online via the Police Scotland website, or by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
The community council added: "Let’s work together to take back our park and keep Lochgelly safe for all our families."
