A 56-year-old man caused more than £4000 in damage to two cars in Lochore.
Lawrence Morrison blamed it on his alcohol problem and claimed he could not remember why he had scratched the cars.
He had left a voicemail threatening the owner of one of the cars.
Morrison, of Glen Clova Place, Kirkcaldy, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and admitted that on January 4 at Kenilworth Terrace, Lochore, he swore and made threats of violence.
He also admitted causing damage to two cars by scratching them.
Depute fiscal Brogan Moffat said Morrison had sent a voicemail message overnight to a man who had been a friend at one time.
He ranted: “You fat c***. I’m going to smash your head in, you c***. I’m coming for you.”
The man was confused when he listened to the voicemail as he had not spoken to Morrison for eight months.
When he went out to his car he saw there was a three-foot scrape across the bonnet. There was similar damage caused to his partner’s vehicle.
The court was told the total damage to the vehicles was estimated at £4,400.
Defence solicitor David Bell said his client was “not able to explain what happened other than alcohol has wrecked his life”.
He added: “He can only assume he was visiting relatives in that area and acted in this way.”
Sheriff Nigel Cooke imposed a structured deferred sentence and Morrison will return to court on 4th November.
