WITH two of their community defibrillators in place, Cowdenbeath Rotary Club have been given a boost to their bid to have three set up before the autumn.
The funding was raised through a successful Duck Race last September, and a grant from Mossmorran Community Windfarm.
The Cowdenbeath defib has been installed on the wall at Mooreland's Travel, at the north end of High Street, while the Benarty facility is now in place outside the Community Shop in Benarty Square, Ballingry.
The rotary club's council meeting, on Thursday, heard that the third defib was set to be installed on a wall at Lochgelly Centre over the next few weeks.
Past president Craig Bennet, who has pioneered this project for the club, told the council members: “We have received information that the site for the defibrillator has been chosen and the installation work will shortly begin.
“It all means that the project to have three defibs available 24/7 for the public in Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly and Benarty will soon be in place, and we have to be very grateful to everyone who has helped us complete this project.”
