A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged after armed police were called to Crossgates, following reports of a man with what appeared to be a weapon.
Emergency services were alerted at around 11.25am on Wednesday, July 29, to concerns about a man believed to be in possession of a weapon in the Crossgates area.
Police Scotland said officers, including firearms officers, attended and no serious injuries were reported.
The man was later traced and three weapons were recovered.
He has been charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear in court at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.25am on Wednesday, July 29, we received a report of a man in possession of what appeared to be a weapon in the Crossgates area of Fife.
“Officers, including firearms officers, attended, and no serious injuries were reported.
“A 30-year-old man was traced and three weapons were recovered. He has been arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear in court at a later date.”
