Too many young people still “locked out of work” despite there being just under 200 vacancies in Fife.
This comes as there are currently 177 vacancies throughout the Kingdom within various sectors including, retail, construction and hospitality.
Scottish Figures show that unemployment has fallen slightly, with the employment rate sitting at 74.3 per cent, up 0.3 per cent on the quarter and down 0.6 per cent on the year.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate is at 4.7 per cent, which is up 0.5 per cent on the quarter and up 1.3 per cent on the year.
Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Pat McFadden, said: “While it's welcome that unemployment has fallen slightly, the reality is too many young people are still locked out of work.
“For too long, governments have paid for failure rather than invested in people's success.
“We’re determined to turn that around by creating real opportunities for young people, reforming education so everyone has a clear path to a good job and providing the support people need to stay and get on in work.”
Currently, the Department of Work and Pensions have 177 vacancies in Fife.
Stagecoach are recruiting for bus drivers and are offering Sector Based Work Academies for unemployed customers to help move into this role.
