A 24-year-old man has been arrested after a stabbing in Cardenden this morning, which left another man in hospital.

Emergency services were called to Carden Avenue at around 7am today (Friday) after reports of a serious assault.

The Times understands the incident was a stabbing.

The injured man was taken to Kirkcaldy's Victoria Hospital for treatment, with inquiries ongoing.

Police Scotland have not released further details on his condition.

A spokesperson said: “Around 7am on Friday, July 10, officers received a report of a serious assault on Carden Avenue, Cardenden.

“A man was taken to hospital for treatment.

“A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed one person was taken to hospital.

A spokesperson said: “We received a call today at 7.12am to attend an incident on Carden Avenue.

"We dispatched two ambulances to the scene and transported one patient to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.”
