An investigation is underway after several trees were cut down in Lochgelly public park without permission.
Police were alerted to the area just behind Joe Temperly Wynd on the afternoon of Friday, June 26.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are aware of damage to several trees in Lochgelly. Enquiries are ongoing to establish any criminality.”
Stephen Duffy, grounds maintenance team manager for the area confirmed that the go-ahead had not been granted.
He said: “We're aware of reports of unauthorised tree felling and damage within Lochgelly Public Park.
"An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the incident and will consider what action may be required once all the facts have been established.”
