Bay Travel has withdrawn one of its bus services from an area of Cowdenbeath after it was said to be targeted by youths with missiles.
The 17A will no longer serve Moss Side Road until further notice as the company has assessed it to be too risky.
It said in a statement: “Several rocks struck the rear of the bus, and on the return journey our driver had to brake suddenly to avoid a brick being thrown through the window.
“The safety of our drivers and passengers is our highest priority. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.”
The usual route runs from Kelty’s Westcroft Way to Cowdenbeath’s Mossend Terrace.
Similar targeting of Stagecoach buses in the town has been reported in recent weeks, with glass being smashed in some instances.
