A man and woman having sex on a sofa were filmed through a window.
They were recorded by 24-year-old Nathan de Soyza, of Harcourt Road, Kirkcaldy, who appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.
The Peeping Tom incident took place in Bowhill and de Soyza also vandalised a car at the same address.
He admitted that on August 17 last year at an address in Bowhill he committed the offence of voyeurism.
He recorded a male and female engaging in sexual intercourse through the window of the property without their knowledge or consent.
On the same day at the same address, he damaged the tyres of a car by striking them with a knife.
Depute fiscal Amy Robertson said de Soyza had phoned his sister to say: “I’ve done something bad” and when she went to pick him up his hand was cut.
He told her he had tried to slash a tyre and had cut himself.
He also said he had witnessed the couple having sex when he looked through the window and videoed it, asking if she wanted to view it.
The sister later told the woman about the video and the police were contacted.
The court was told de Soyza is unemployed and was having mental health issues at the time.
Sheriff William Gilchrist imposed a community payback order with two years’ supervision and 100 hours of unpaid work.
De Soyza was also put on the sex offenders register for two years and a non-harassment order for the same period.
