Lochgelly High School pupils had a ball marking the end of their secondary education journey at this year’s prom.

The Dean Park Hotel put on a night of dancing on Thursday, June 18, which was a perfect excuse for attendees to get dressed up and give the academic year a proper send-off.

Deputy head teacher, Wendy Cooper said: “For a school such as Lochgelly, serving one of the most deprived communities in Fife, prom is far more than just a social event.

“It is a significant milestone and a lasting memory for our young people. It has been an absolute pleasure to lead and support the prom committee throughout the year and witness their determination, enthusiasm and relentless fundraising efforts to make this evening possible.”

Mrs Cooper went on to thank everyone who helped put on a special night for the leavers, who she said: “truly did themselves proud”.
