THREE weeks ago one of the biggest prizes in the 17 year history of the Blue Brazil Lottery, £6,800, was won.
Many of weekly punters would have seen that the winner of the Blue Brazil Lottery was announced, however, there was an unusual story that the friends of the winner wanted to share behind the winning ticket.
The ticket was sold by the team at Toys, Sweets and Summin' To Eat, at 343 High Street, in Cowdenbeath.
The shop team said on their Facebook page: “The winning ticket actually belonged to our beloved Linda Jones.
“Sadly, Linda passed away before the draw took place, and before she knew she had won the incredible prize of £6,800.
“Although she wasn’t here to celebrate the win herself, we know exactly what she would have wanted.
“In keeping with her generous and caring nature, the winnings have been shared amongst her family and her best friend, just as we believe Linda would have wished.
“While we would give anything to have her back instead, this feels like one final gift from Linda, a real reminder of her kindness, love, and the way she always put others first.
“We miss her every day and hope she’d be smiling knowing that her win has brought a little comfort and happiness to the people she loved most.”
