BRAG’s headquarters in Crosshill were transformed into a vibrant community hub last weekend as they celebrated their Family Fun Day.
The third annual fun day was held on Sunday, June 7, and saw staff, tenants and residents gather for the occasion.
A total of 260 people turned out, with highlights including face painting, appearances from Blue the dinosaur and Bumble Bee from Transformers and bouncy castles.
There were also highland dancing displays from Sarah Hendry School of Dance and Bookbug storytelling sessions with freshly prepared rainbow pancakes.
BRAG’s latest initiative, the BRAG food van, was also introduced at the event. It served a variety of hot meal options.
A number of tenants from the Crosshill Enterprise Centre played a role in supporting the event.
Nest Hairdressing, Arty Farty, Charles Baxter & Son, and Waverly Street Tattoo each contributed by offering services or activities.
The event also saw strong support from local partners and emergency services. Police Scotland and Lochgelly Fire Station were in attendance, alongside community contributors Eddie Easton and James Fotheringham.
The event raised over £1000 for the pantry through raffle ticket sales and donations.
Roslyn Davidson, assistant operations manager, said that they were: “Absolutely delighted with the turnout despite the weather.
“The community and local businesses came together for a fun filled family event.
“The money raised will go to our pantry@brag, which supports our local community.”
