A violent thug, who abducted a woman in a Fife street, grabbing her by the hair from a car and dragging into another vehicle, has still to be sentenced a year after conviction.
David Stancu, who committed the offence against his former partner in Lumphinnans, left the country and returned to his native Romania.
That was more than a year ago and since then Dunfermline Sheriff Court has repeatedly been told he is too ill to return having suffered a stroke.
Now, Sheriff Krista Johnston has granted a warrant for Stancu’s arrest should he return to the country.
Stancu, 30, formerly of Shetland Place, Kirkcaldy, went on trial in May last year and was convicted by the jury.
Bail was continued until sentencing a month later but Stancu has not been seen at the court since.
