A brand-new convenience store has opened in Lochgelly’s Well Street.
Stop and Shop now sits in place of Not So Basic hairdressers on the town’s Well Road.
Owner Sulmaan Singh started welcoming customers through the doors on Tuesday, May 19.
He said: “I have worked in shops before, but this is my personal business. It’s great, I’m my own boss.
“Mostly it’s me here but I’ve got a staff member as well.”
The 27-year-old Edinburgh businessman spotted what he saw as a gap in the market before deciding to set up shop over the Forth.
“It’s a good area and there are no shops nearby”, he stated.
Opening hours will be 7am until 9pm every day of the week, with products on sale including groceries, confectionary, vapes, and tobacco.
Mr Singh went on: “I’m waiting for the sign to get fitted, but I have a few banners up.
“We’re getting there slowly. Not that many people know the shop is open now.”
Stuart’s Bakers products are on sale in store, including cakes, pastries, and pies.
As a way to help out the community Mr Singh has just joined and meet customers, he decided to give away free bread today (Monday).
