An 88-year-old woman was knocked down and badly injured by a learner driver as she crossed a road in Ballingry.
The driver was 23-year-old Lisa Heenan who has appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
Heenan, of Croall Place, Kelty, admitted that on July 12 last year at Craigie Street, Ballingry, she caused serious injury to the woman by driving a car carelessly.
She failed to give way at a junction where the woman was crossing and as a result the car struck her, causing her to fall to the ground.
Depute fiscal Eve McKaig said the incident took place at 10.45am when the woman had been at her local shops.
As she crossed the road going home, she was struck by Heenan’s car and sustained a fractured hip as well as cuts and bruises.
Defence solicitor Elaine Buist said: “She’s never sat her test and she’s now disposed of her vehicle.”
Sheriff William Gilchrist imposed a one-year driving ban and a £520 fine.
