Cowdenbeath supporters are being invited to take centre stage as part of a new documentary project set to be filmed during the club’s final home game of the season.
Fife College student James Wright will be at Central Park on Saturday, April 18, capturing the voices and stories of fans as part of his Media and Communications course.
Inspired by Ross Cunningham’s 2011 documentary When The Sun Shines, the project aims to shine a fresh light on the story of Cowdenbeath FC.
James will be positioned just inside the turnstiles near the terrace entrance on matchday, where he hopes to speak to supporters about their connection to the club and what keeps them coming back week after week.
Fans will have the option to contribute on or off camera, with the project focused on highlighting the Blue Brazil's identity as a community-driven club.
The documentary will explore three key themes - past, present and future - charting the club’s history, its current position and the sense of optimism building behind the scenes.
Despite recent challenges on the pitch, the club says there is growing stability heading into next season, with the majority of the squad already signed on extended deals and manager Paul McLean and his coaching staff remaining in place.
Off the park, a number of initiatives have helped raise the club’s profile in recent months.
These include the introduction of new VEO 3 performance analysis systems and a dog season ticket scheme, which attracted national attention and featured on BBC Scotland and in FourFourTwo magazine, as well as prompting discussion in the Scottish Parliament.
Supporters have also played a key role in rebuilding the matchday atmosphere, with the formation of a new singing and drumming group, The Blue Brazilians.
The project aims to capture that renewed sense of togetherness between the club and its community, while offering a platform for fans to share their memories and experiences.
Those attending the April 18 fixture are encouraged to take part and contribute to the film.
