A COWDENBEATH man has been fined following a parking dispute with a nearby take-away business.
Andrew Hatten, 61, of Perth Road, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on December 1 last year at Perth Road, during a phone call to the emergency services, he swore, made racist remarks and threats.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said there was an on-going dispute with a take-away two doors away about parking outside the shop.
At 3.30pm police received a 999 call from Hatten saying his wife was involved in a row with staff at the take-away.
He then said he was going to take matters into his own hands.
During the call he also ranted about one of those involved in the dispute being an “ignorant P*** b******, get him to f***”.
Defence solicitor Amy Harley said her client has lived there for many years and had no previous incidents until the nearby shop was taken over by new owners.
She said there has been a parking dispute over an area in front of the shop since then.
Hatten was not present at the time of this latest row but had been contacted by his wife who was “very upset” and he called the police.
“It seems things have reached boiling point,” added the solicitor.
Sheriff Mark O’Hanlon fined Hatten £320.
