SIR Ian Rankin will be the guest star in the debut episode of a new Scottish music podcast.
The best-selling author from Cardenden will talk about his influences, which include fellow Beath High School pupil and Big Country frontman Stuart Adamson, and memories of watching The Skids in Dunfermline.
Allan Glen will host Scotpop which celebrates the past, present and future of Scottish music, featuring news, reviews and interviews with bands, filmmakers, journalists, musicians, authors and those behind the scenes.
The debut episode features the first of a two-part interview with famous Fifer Sir Ian who has sold more than 30 million copies of his best-selling Rebus novels.
It will be available online from Thursday April 2.
Allan said: "In the interview, Sir Ian discusses how he was inspired by fellow Beath High pupil Stuart Adamson and 'the thrill' of watching The Skids at the Glen Pavilion in Dunfermline and the Pogo-a-Gogo Club in Kirkcaldy in 1978.
"The Cardenden-born novelist also discusses his work with the late Fife folk artist Jackie Leven."
Allan is a music writer and broadcaster who has interviewed and written about some of the biggest names in Scottish music over the past 30 years for the likes of NME, Melody Maker, the BBC, Record Collector and the Guardian.
He is also the author of 'Stuart Adamson – In a Big Country', the critically acclaimed biography of the Skids and Big Country legend - with an introduction by Sir Ian.
An introductory episode of Scotpop will launch on Spotify, YouTube, Apple and all major platforms on Tuesday March 31.
