THE Crossgates team who won the Cowdenbeath Rotary Club Primary School Quiz were given a huge cheer by their schoolmates on Friday when they were presented with the trophy.

Rotary president, Craig Bennet, handed over the silverware, and in doing so said that the team had held their nerve superbly in the last round, under great pressure, to win by a single point from Kelty and St Bride's.

Mr Bennet wished them every success when the Crossgates pupils take part in the Fife Area final on Monday, April 20, at Levenmouth Academy.

Mr Bennet commented: “It was one of the tightest finishes we have ever had in the primary school quiz.

“When the last round started any one of five schools could have won it, and the Crossgates team finished strongly to take the title.”

Our picture shows Craig Bennet presenting the trophy to the winners at Friday's assembly when they were given a warm reception by their peers, and taking a bow were Alba Skinner, Harley Paton and Fraser Allan.

Fourth team member, Dua Kadar, was unable to make the presentation.
