Senior citizen support groups in Fife receive Rotary funding

AN initiative which can bring important support for local elderly people is being backed by Cowdenbeath Rotary Club.

Through their connection with West Fife Rotary Club, the Cowdenbeath rotarians have learned of a group which provides support groups for senior citizens in Rosyth, Cowdenbeath and Torryburn.

At Thursday night's meeting, club secretary, Tom Russell, said that the charity involved was geared to providing the weekly sessions to allow senior citizens enjoy building friendships and have fun.

“They are seeking some funding to allow them to buy some games for the members of the groups to enjoy, and to strengthen the groups in each community,” he added.

The Cowdenbeath rotarians felt it was a project very much worth backing and pledged £200.
