A Cowdenbeath-based charity has marked a major milestone after serving more than 30,000 meals to people in need across Fife.
PICTS – Poverty Intervention Charity Transforming Scotland – has now provided a total of 30,657 home-cooked, nutritious meals through its Community Hub in Cowdenbeath since opening its doors just a couple of years ago.
Formerly known as the Knights Templar Goodwill Charity of Scotland, the organisation recently rebranded to PICTS to reflect its growing focus on tackling poverty and supporting vulnerable groups across the region.
The charity’s team of volunteers prepares and serves meals every Saturday from the Maxwell Centre kitchens, offering food, clothing, and support for veterans, those experiencing homelessness, and families facing financial hardship.
A spokesperson for PICTS said the milestone celebrates more than just numbers: “Behind every one of those 30,657 meals is a story of care, dignity, and community. Our volunteers and donors make it possible for us to help people who might otherwise go hungry. This hub has become a safe, welcoming space for anyone who needs support.”
