Roadworks on the B981 have begun in Crossgates.

The works begin on Netherbeath Road and go to 54m northeast of Cowdenend Boundary Wall in Hill of Beath.

Fife Council confirmed the works have commenced.

They are expected to last for 25 working days and are to create a new footway scheme.

My Cowdenbeath, a regeneration group, posted on Facebook: “B981 roadworks will last until mid-March as work to create another ‘active travel corridor’ between Crossgates and Cowdenbeath, past the community woodland, are completed by Fife Council.

“Parking in the woodland layby is affected as the roadworks progress along the road, so take care if you are visiting in the next few weeks.”
