Bikers raise money for children at Victoria Hospital

As a part of their annual Christmas Toy Run, the group collected money from members to buy presents for young patients at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

The ride to deliver the presents took place on December 13, with 20 decorated bikes spreading awareness in local towns along the route.

Their journey began under the Forth Bridge, and ended at the Victoria Hospital.

Members of the public along their route also donated to the cause, as Mark Ellis, a member of the club, said: "At a stop while we were looking for a photographer who had asked us to stop we had a member of the public approach ask what was going on.

"He was informed of who we were and what we were doing.

"He then reached into his wallet and donated £30.

"A very generous and kind offer indeed and not what we expected."

As they were already on their way with presents, the donation has been put towards the groups 'Easter Run' fund. 

Mr Ellis continued saying: "Asking for donations at this time of the year is never easy but the group always step up to the plate.

"As a small group we are very proud of this.

"We look at it as putting something back into our local community.

"As always the staff are very appreciative of our efforts and make us feel welcome.

"We enjoyed the inter action with the public along our route,

"Afterwards it's into Starbucks for a well earned Hot Chocolate before heading home."

The group's total contributions have exceeded £10,000 according to Mr Ellis. 

Representatives from the hospital received the gifts from the bikers and expressed appreciation for their efforts.
