A SECTION of Hilton Road in Cowdenbeath is to shut for two days.

The stretch between the junction with Leuchatsbeath Drive to the junction with Netherton Road will be closed to traffic from 9am on Tuesday October 14.

The Fife Council notice said the road is due to re-open just before midnight the following day.

A diversion will be in place via Netherton Road and Centenary Place.

Access for emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained.

There will be vehicle access for residents but only "when safe to do so".

The council notice said the works will be carried out by Contraflow Ltd and the road closure is necessary to "allow ironwork repairs to be carried out in safety".
