A post on the Crossgates Family Forum’s Facebook page said that it will be put “toward the improvement of the playground, providing a facility that will hopefully enrich the lives of children for years to come”.
It will involve replacing the current trim trail, and there are plans for a phase two which would see the creation of a multi-use games area (MUGA).
This is an all-weather area that can be designed for a wide array of sports such as football, tennis, and basketball.
But the addition has been put on the backburner due to affordability.
The post explained: “Unfortunately, even with the support and enthusiasm from Crossgates Primary School, a variety of obstacles have arisen which means that we are only able to implement phase one at present, this being the installation of the playground equipment as soon as possible.
“In a time where school budgets are stretched beyond breaking point and teachers work tirelessly within serious financial constraints, the support of groups such as the Family Forum are essential to make dreams become reality.
“Whilst we continue to beat the drum for financial support, the Family Forum also work closely with Fife Council to ensure the progress of the project, and we will continue to represent the best interest of our stakeholders at all stages.”
The group ended by appealing to those with experience in delivering such installations to reach out and help push it over the line.
