The Dunfermline Press and Central Fife Times are continuing our call for readers to put people forward for our Community Champion Awards 2024.

Throughout West and Central Fife, there are many wonderful people who do so much to improve the lives of those around them, and make incredible efforts that often don’t receive the recognition they deserve.

Our annual awards are an opportunity to reward and celebrate the people who do so much for our communities.

Press and Times editor Kevin McRoberts said: “So many people step up to help those less fortunate than themselves, giving their time and energy to make other people’s lives that little bit better.

“We want to recognise, reward and thank these amazing people.”

People like last year's Champion Teacher, Jemma Thomas, of Crossgates Primary, who was recognised for her work as the Young Carers Champion for her school community.

She created a sector leading support programme for young carers, creating a young carers club and sourcing funding so young carers could attend school residentials and extracurricular clubs free of charge.
