"SIGNIFICANT" progress has been made at a Central Fife school since is last inspection.

HM Inspectors have returned to Cardenden Primary after areas of improvement were agreed following a visit in December 2022.

The team found that senior leaders at the facility had established effective approaches to evaluating the quality of the school’s work while approaches to learning, teaching and assessment had also improved.

There was improvement in the approaches to meeting the learning and wellbeing needs of all children while inspectors also said that children’s learning experiences, progress and aspects of attainment were beginning to improve.

Acting Headteacher Lesley Brady was pleased to see the progress recognised.

"We are proud to see that the inspection team identified the hard work and commitment of all staff and children when recognising the positive changes happening in our school," she said.

"The areas for further improvement noted by the inspection team are areas which our self-evaluation processes have identified already, as we continue our journey to getting it right for the children and families of the Cardenden PS community."

Education Manager Mary McKay added: “We are delighted the significant progress made at Cardenden Primary has been recognised.

"The ongoing commitment of all staff to improvements led by a dedicated leadership team is having a positive impact to supporting improved outcomes for children’s learning and achievements.”

A report on further progress will now be provided within a year which will inform any decision by Education Scotland regarding further engagement.
