CENTRAL Fife footballers kicked off some Christmas goodwill when they handed over donations to a local foodbank.

Bowhill Rovers AFC handed over much-needed items to The Fridge which is based at the Bowhill Community Centre.

Club Committee member Gordon Hindley said they were pleased to help a vital cause.

"It's the time of the year for showing the spirit of goodwill and the players and committee of Bowhill Rovers Amateur Football Club decided they wanted to help their local community during the festive period." he explained.

"This is a time where so many families are struggling to make ends meet due to the cost of living crisis. A decision was made to collect food parcels for the local food bank known locally as The Fridge.

"The Fridge is a lifeline for local people in the Cardenden area who are struggling to make ends meet.

"The committee and players felt Christmas time is a perfect opportunity to demonstrate some community spirit and everyone at the club donated for this worthwhile cause as a thank you for all the help and support that they have received from the Cardenden public over a long period of time."
