ELDERLY residents in Cowdenbeath enjoyed some festive fun at a special Christmas party put on by the town's community council.
Around 70 people attended the free event – thanks to funding from the Mossmorran Wind Farm Community Fund – where they enjoyed food, drinks and entertainment in the Maxwell Centre.
Christine Gourlay, secretary of the community council, said a great time was had by all.

"This is the first time in as many years that I can remember that we have had so many people in the one place," she said. "It was for people who live in the community council boundary.
"They all seemed to enjoy it. I have heard from a few people who came and had a good time – one person even asked if it was too early to put in for tickets for next year!"
While enjoying soup, festive sandwiches and dessert, Jimmy Jack provided entertainment throughout the evening.
Christine said they wanted to ensure people were not lonely at Christmas time.
"At this time of the year, there is a risk of social isolation," she added. "Even though you have got family, you can sometimes feel on the lonely side.
"We organised for transport to and from the venue so they were not making their own way."
