A drunk man was arrested after “making a nuisance of himself” at Dunfermline bus station.

James Johnman, 33, of Paterson Lane. Cowdenbeath, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on June 12 at Dunfermline bus station, he repeatedly made threats towards police officers.

Depute fiscal Catherine Stevenson said police had been called to the bus station at 8.30pm and heard Johnman causing a commotion there.

He shouted he was “wanted” by police and ran away from officers who caught up with him.

He threatened that he would smash the face of one officer and he would stab them.

He was then put to the ground by the officers.

Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said: “He shouldn’t have been drinking on top of his medication.

“He seems to have been making a nuisance of himself and told the police he was wanted by them, which was not true. He does not have a great recollection of it.”

Sheriff Garry Sutherland told Johnman he had got himself into “a foolish situation”. He imposed a structured deferred sentenced and Johnman will return to court on March 13.
