A 21-year-old Cowdenbeath man, caught with indecent images of children after a police raid, has been sentenced.
Reece Martin, of Glebe Road, appeared back in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court having previously admitted the offences.
Between January 16 and October 7 last year he was in possession of indecent images of children.
He also admitted that between the same dates he downloaded indecent images of children.
Police received information and obtained a search warrant for Martin’s home where they seized his phone and a computer. They were found to contain child sex abuse images in categories A, B and C.
Martin told police he “accidentally” kept the images adding: “I was in a bad mind-set at the time.”
Defence solicitor Aime Allan said her client, a first offender, had lost his job as a result of the conviction.
Sheriff Garry Sutherland told Martin: “Most people in society would not be surprised if I sent you to custody.”
Instead, he imposed a community payback order with two years of supervision and 140 hours of unpaid work.
Martin was also put on the sex offenders register for two years.
